These foundational courses provide students with a comprehensive understanding of different departments within the hospitality industry, equipping them with essential tools for professional success.

In the Foundation in Food Production course, students will learn fundamental food preparation techniques, including ingredient identification, cooking methods, and presentation. Similarly, the Foundation in Food & Beverage Service course focuses on food service fundamentals, such as table setups and customer interactions.

The Foundation in Front Office Operations course introduces students to front office work essentials, including guest registration, reservation management, and customer service. Additionally, the Foundation in Housekeeping Operations course covers skills related to managing guest supplies, handling laundry services, and maintaining comfortable accommodations.

Students will also explore the intriguing field of travel and tourism management, gaining insights into various aspects like travel, lodging, and attractions. The Communication Skills course enhances students’ oral and written communication abilities, crucial for effective interactions with clients and colleagues in the hospitality industry.

The Second Semester Curriculum: Building on Foundation Knowledge

In the second semester, students expand their foundation knowledge with subjects like Basics of Event Management, Business Communications, Food Production II, Food & Beverage Service II, Front Office Operations II, Housekeeping Operations II, and Vocational Practical II.

The Food Production II course further develops students’ culinary skills by exposing them to diverse cuisines, advanced cooking techniques, and menu planning. Food & Beverage Service II covers topics like wine service, advanced table setups, and banquet operations.

Front Office Operations II emphasizes advanced reservation management, revenue management, and guest problem-solving. Housekeeping Operations II delves into topics such as cleaning methods, inventory management, and quality control.

The Basics of Event Management course introduces students to event planning concepts like event development, budgeting, venue selection, and marketing. The Business Communications course focuses on formal writing, presentations, and negotiation techniques.

Lastly, the Vocational Practical II component provides hands-on experience, allowing students to apply their theoretical knowledge in real-world hospitality settings. This practical training enhances students’ skills and employability in the competitive hospitality job market.
